As a retired American, living in Bordeaux, France since 2015, I have taken several French courses during the past 4 years – large University classes, various small private French language school classes, and subsidized public classes. I can say without hesitation that my one-week stay with Edwige was the best French language learning that I have had the pleasure of experiencing! Edwige is a truly wonderful teacher – she is very attentive, patient and observant and I felt that she did an excellent job of adapting our lessons, games, and videos to my level of understanding and she gave me that little boost of confidence to challenge me. The lessons were both fun and interesting and the time went by quickly! At the end of the week, Edwige provided a plan that I can use to practice and improve my level of French.
The setting is ideal for both relaxing and learning, and the meals with Edwige are delicious and healthy. The cottage for students is comfortable and the perfect place to work on your homework, watch French movies, or read French books. We spent 3 hours each morning speaking, writing, and listening in French. Afternoons were spent going on local excursions. It is a lovely location for long walks through the vineyards or to the neighboring villages.
